Introduction
Bikes on the Drive believes the protection of personal information is an important priority. We are committed to complying with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), as well as doing our part to inform our clients of the privacy issues surrounding online projects. The following is our privacy policy, which outlines how we will comply with PIPEDA and the ten founding principles contained in Schedule 1 of PIPEDA. This privacy policy governs and Bikes on the Drive.
1. Accountability
Bikes on the Drive understands it has a responsibility to protect the personal information under its control. We have implemented several personal information handling policies and procedures to ensure this protection. We will also use contractual, or other means, to ensure any third party we share information with has similar, or better, procedures and policies in place to handle its information protection responsibilities.
2. What is Personal Information?
Personal information is information that can be explicitly used to identify and/or contact you. This includes information such as your name, email address and phone number.
3. When does Bikes on the Drive Collect Personal Information?
Bikes on the Drive does not automatically collect personal information about you unless you specifically and knowingly provide to us via method a or method b as described below. Such information will be collected only if you provide it to us voluntarily, for example, if you enter a contest or promotion, express interest in a product, or request information from us. We don’t require that any personal information be provided in order to view our website.
a. Contact Form
Bikes on the Drive collects personal information through its web site contact form. Information collected from this form is used for business development, and customer relationship management. Information that is collected is kept in electronic form on our own servers and our computers. This information is only disclosed to the owners andemployees of Bikes on the Drive.
b. Cookies
Bikes on the Drive uses cookies to track the number visits, pages, and time you our visitor spends on the site. Your cookies can be managed by the user preferences of your browser. Cookies will automatically expire two years after the first visit by your browser. You can clear your cookies at any time via the user preferences of your web browser. None of your personal information, such as, name, age, street address, phone number or email address, is gathered and / or obtained via cookies. Users who don’t wish to participate in tracking activities can easily not accept this cookie by setting their Internet browser user preferences. These users will simply not be included in our website tracking statistics.
3. What does Bikes on the Drive do with the cookies?
Our web servers uses the information provided by the cookies in log files to analyze trends, administer our site, track users’ movements on an aggregate basis, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. The log files include things such as Internet Protocol addresses (IP addresses), browser types and versions, Internet service providers (ISPs), referring/exit pages, platform types, date/time stamp, and number of clicks. The log does not collect name, age, email address, mailing address or phone number. We currently use Google Analytics as our primary statistics systems. None of the personal information you share via our web form is share with Google Analytics or any of their partners.
4. Information we don’t collect via this website
We do not operate a e-commerce website at this time and will never ask for your credit card or banking information via our website. If we do offer that service we will incorporate SSL security and follow proper internet standards and protocol for such improvements.
5. Third Parties
Bikes on the Drive does not share or sell any personal information it collects via our website with third parties.
6. Business Transitions
In the event Bikes on the Drive goes through a business transition, such as a merger, being acquired by another entity or selling a portion of its assets, users’ information will, in most instances, be part of the assets transferred.
7. Safeguards
Bikes on the Drive protects the personal information it collects, uses, and discloses. Physical methods of protection include office alarms and locks on appropriate cabinets. Organizational methods of protection include internal policies and procedures for information use, collection and disclosure. Technical methods of protection include firewire, firewalls, and password access controls. We make our employees aware of these safeguards and take care when disposing of personal information.

The Bikes on the Drive web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that Bikes on the Drive is not responsible for the privacy practices of these other sites. We recommend site visitors make themselves aware of the policies of these other sites. Our privacy statement only applies to our website: www.bikesonthedrive.com.
9. Sharing Tools
Bikes on the Drive does not send any of your personal information through the share buttons from our site. Once you have left our responsible for the privacy practices of these other sites. We provide these buttons as a connivence to customers who use these services.
10. Children’s Privacy
The Bikes on the Drive site does not knowingly collect children’s information nor does it target children. In the event we discover we have collected, used, or disclosed children’s information through the site we will take immediate action to discontinue such activity. Reasonable effort will be taken to notify the parent/guardian of the child/children involved of the circumstances and any action taken to investigate the matter.
11. Challenging Compliance
If an individual has a challenge regarding Bikes on the Drive’ compliance with PIPEDA and Schedule 1 of PIPEDA, they must contact Bikes on the Drive Manager. The complaint must contain the date, individuals involved, an explicit statement of the events that occurred, and contact information for the individual submitting the complaint. The Owners / Manager will investigate the complaint to the best of their abilities and with reasonable effort. The individual filing the complaint will be notified of the actions taken to remedy the complaint. The complaint will also be noted in the Information Log. In the event an individual is dissatisfied with the remedy for the complaint they may contact the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
